Guidelines to propose a Book Symposium

Proposals for a Book Symposium should be addressed to the Executive Board at fqpppijournal@gmail.com and should include:

  • Title, year of publication, and publisher of the proposed book.
  • A concept note outlining the significance of the book and the central questions the symposium aims to explore, explaining how the discussion will contribute to current debates in political, moral, legal, or social philosophy.
  • A list of proposed contributors, each accompanied by a short bio and a 200-word abstract of their planned contribution (if available)*.
  • Biographical notes on the editor(s) of the Symposium.

All contributions will undergo a single-blind peer-review, except for introductions authored by guest editor(s) and rejoinders to the symposium.

Guest editors are generally expected to oversee the editorial workflow, including editorial screening and coordination of the peer-review process, in collaboration with and under the guidance of the journal’s managing editors.

*Although having contributor abstracts at hand is ideal for the editors’ consideration, we welcome proposals at all stages of planning, as long as a concept note is available. Should abstracts not yet be finalized, we still encourage prospective guest editors to contact the managing editors, who will be glad to offer guidance and help identify a suitable timeline and slot for the symposium.
